IKF Trailer...

Signals the Start of a Great Week!

02/06/10- The IKF Trailer is parked in front of the Doubletree Hotel- signaling the start of an exciting week that will end with a spectacular event this Friday Night at the Doubletree Hotel in Sacramento, CA.  Muay Thai Kickboxers from across the State will converge at the Doubletree's Grand Ballroom to do serious battle for ring supremacy!   The Hotel was packed this weekend with guests for conventions and other events and all of them stopped to take notice of the beautiful IKF Trailer colorfully plastered with logos as well as the impressive IKF Hummer that made it clear...there was a fight about to happen!  Many hotel guests did not hesitate to say..." We are excited to see the show...where do we get tickets?" exactly what any promoter wants to hear.

Men, Women and a special Junior Girl's IKF Championship match will highlight the evening of Feet and Fists of Fury.  Plus, two other main events are set to give a double punch and kick to the Doubletree Hotel!  No doubt, this will be one of Sacramento's largest Kickboxing events as tickets are selling fast and everyone is talking about the resurrection of a great sport destined to become greater...this Friday Night!  No Matter who wins the Super Bowl this weekend, by the end of the week...there will be many winners...fight fans - for what they will witness and the fighters for the praise they will get for the excellent show they will give the fans!

"Got Your Tickets!' Get Them Now!  Or hear about it at the water cooler on Monday!

IKF Championship Kickboxing Fights...

A Grand Affair Set for Sacramento's Historic Event!

 The Doubletree Hotel will Rock!

By AKP Press

The countdown is on for what to be one of Sacramento, CA’s largest kickboxing events in years!  The stage is set to bring new light to a sport not so in the spotlight but still standing strong and ready to show its greatness!

AK Promotions of Rocklin, CA and partner- Tommy T's Comedy and Dinner Theatre of Rancho Cordova, CA have plans to light a fire to ignite a new wave of kickboxing entertainment in the Sac. Area.  This is the third show in the past six months and both prior shows have been overall very successful with action- packed bouts, a sellout show on the first one and a respectable crowd at the second show in a larger venue.  Fans left wanting more and now they will get their chance to taste it once again...but this time with a bit more flare!

The Doubletree Hotel of Sacramento, CA is once again opening its doors to AK Promotions- Fri. Feb. 12th at 7:PM.  They were impressed enough with the last show back on Nov. 22nd '09 to give the promotion company its beautiful Grand Ballroom this time around which is adorned with enough chandelier to impress a prince!

On fight night, the Grand Ballroom will be filled with chairs and a kickboxing ring at center mass.  Lighting and Sound Producer Mr. Dennis Smith will have the ring aglow with proper lighting that will illuminate the room with a Vegas fight night ambiance.  Plus, the film crew on hand will give the feel of a grand affair! Music will be blasting with the hottest sounds that will circulate and delight the ears of fight fans as they enjoy alcoholic beverages and snacks served by experienced waitresses from Tommy T's Comedy and Dinner Theatre from bars set up inside the Ballroom.

Next, Ring Announcer (L) Wayne Wilson of Elk Grove, CA will take center stage introducing the officials and the performer of the National Anthem who is recording artist (R) Aaron Young (AKA- AY) Young currently has songs playing on several local radio stations.  He is the latest winner in a Craigslist National Anthem singing contest that AK Promotions does to find the best performer for its shows.  As always, the talent was awesome- the final three had to audition twice but in the end, ‘AY’ pulled if off with his control and powerful singing talent.

With so much going on around the world today, like the horrific earthquake in Haiti, fight fans here in America will be reminded of how great this country is as we continue to assist those in great need across the ocean.  Rest assured that Aaron’s rendition of the National Anthem will set the stage for our humility as world citizens as well as the great sports entertainment to come that evening.

As fighters take their position on stage, spotlights will beam them and music will blast as fog fills the air!  Ring girls will lead the way and no doubt get their share of attention as well.  Soon both fighters will enter the ring on separate planks preparing to do battle in serious feet and fists of fury!

Over 15 bouts of Muay Thai / Kickboxing including men, women and a special IKF Junior title fight will be one of the main events of the evening.  Perhaps, two of the smallest in the ring, may in fact have the biggest impact on the entire event. When 12 year old and two time (L)  IKF World Classic Champion Katrina “The Storm” Nahe of Antioch, CA battles (R) 14 year old Aneka Otte of Scottsdale, AZ, the roof may explode due to the noise fight fans will make for this much anticipated fight! The adult fighters that evening will really need to push to out-do this fight as each camp is predicting large turnouts of cheering fans with all the bells, whistles and signs needed to make this fight a real super fight!

Trainers of these two young ladies made it clear- (Mr. Dennis Guila for Nahe and Mr. Bob Karmel for Otte) that they are training hard and plan to take full advantage of this historic IKF title fight.  It’s going to be a war!

Now, saying all that, it may seem as though Nahe Vs Otte is the main event, not so.  Actually, there is a smoking semi- main event and a potential title exchange in the main event if it goes in trainer Dan Blacks’ of Concord, CA direction.  Black feels that his fighter (R) Tyler Cronin (8-2) replacing Rick Erlec Due to personal issue, Erlic had to pull out of the fight this week) can take out the defending IKF West Champion… the very crafty (L) T. J. Arcangle’s of San Francisco, CA.  However, long-time veteran trainer of world champions in Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts, Kru Sam P. who is always quiet and confident doesn’t feel this is possible.  Kru Sam believes T. J. is also destined to become a world champion…we will just have to see!

(B-L) Jon Pryor of Sacramento, CA who is talented with flashy boxing and kicking combinations, will get another shot for an IKF title as he takes on champion  (B-R- )Bryan Padilla  who is trained by former champion Rudi Ott of Milpitas, CA. Pryor fell a little short in his last outing for a title.  However, in the words of Cedric Robinson, trainer of Pryor and owner of Sacramento based Robinson’s Tae Kwon Do Clubs, “ If Jon does what he is suppose to, the title stays in Sac-town!”  Sounds like fighting words!

Media- Start the Presses!  Fighters- Call Your People! Fight Fans- Make your reservations – Now! This will be the show of shows and one you will not want to miss!  We hope to see you there…prepared to witness this grand affair and see why Kickboxing’s light will shine brightly again while proving why it is truly one of the greatest contact sports in the world!  Forward March! Congratulations to Johnny Collins... Graig's List Contest Winner!

A.K. Promotions recently put together a little singing contest on Craig's list in Sacramento to see who they felt could sing the best version of the National Anthem.    The last time they did this back in Sept. 09, they found a phenomenal performer Lisa Gardenia of Sacramento and she brought the house down with a flawless rendition of the Anthem at a packed house for an IKF Kickboxing Show held at Tommy T's Comedy and Dinner Theatre in Rancho Cordova, CA..  This time around, our plans are not to disappoint.  After auditioning about a dozen contestants, the most impressive voice was that of Johnny Collins.  He not only sang with ease but seems to carry a confidence that may someday make him a star in the music industry.  Johnny will be performing the National Anthem at the upcoming IKF Championship kickboxing  fights this coming Sunday- Nov. 22nd.  The event will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in Sacramento, CA.

Johnny Collins has been performing for audiences around the world since the early age of 7. Now 29 yrs old, highlights of his music career include touring performances in Singapore, Indonesia, Canada, and the United States for audiences as big as 35,000 plus. Since moving to Sacramento more than 6 years ago, Johnny has ignited a budding career as a local singer/songwriter, pianist and producer.

West Coast IKF Point Kickboxing  Circuits Ends 2009 with a Bang!

Results Coming Soon

Sat. - Nov. 7th - Although registration started at 8:AM, fighters and fans started to line up in front of the Rocklin- CA  Kickboxing and Boxing Club own and operated by IKF/ PKB President Johnny  Davis about 7:30.  Eager and excited to try their first hand at IKF Point Kickboxing and, or continue to advance in the semi contact action that has gotten a lot of attention in the past few years.  Anyone paying attention and who frequents the internet would only need to type in IKF Point Kickboxing  on most search engines to find a plethora of You Tube videos of fights from events being held across the country!

On this day, the action and excitement of this event was not to disappoint as fighters and fans alike got a taste of the fad and now also see why the sky is the limit for the future of IKF Point Kickboxing!  Events are already starting to fill the schedule by former and new promoters who want to contribute to the growth of this excellent incubator for all fighting that includes strikes but in particular the great sport of kickboxing which includes Muay Thai, International Low and American high Kick rules.  This past event actually had several fighters participating in the American High Kick Division then in previous tournaments  in some time and showing that it is still popular and exciting -  It also shows the diversity of the fighters as they come prepared to fight in all styles being offered.

The energy  was high for this event in particular as many fighters were seeking to get additional points for the final IKF Point  Kickboxing Tournament of 2009!  These final points could be the difference in winning the title of IKF Point Kickboxing Champion for 2009 in their particular division.  The Awards banquet will be held at Tommy T's Comedy and Dinner Theatre in Rancho Cordova, CA on January 30th, 2010 and will start at 12 Noon.  A great meal and awards will be given out to all of the champions for 2009!  It will be a great event and those attending will have to RSVP. There may also be an online registration  set up on line.  Tickets for the Banquet will be $35 and we are asking that everyone attend whether getting an award or not.  It will be great to see what you are working for throughout the year as you fight, win and accumulate your points.  Winners will be listed soon on this and the www.IKFkickboxing.com  website and there will be a deadline to RSVP. For more information on IKF Point Kickboxing...see the site at www.IKFPKB.com or contact Johnny Davis at johnnyd@akpromotions.org

ACOM Sports Lands High on First IKF Point Kickboxing Tournament

Hollywood, Florida

Jerry Mendez (R) and Dan Paneda (L) were appointed New Florida IKF Point Kickboxing Representatives

by IKF / PKB President (C) Johnny Davis

There is a big difference between talking and doing.  It's clear that Jerry Mendez and Dan Paneda of Hollywood Fl. are representatives of the later of this statement.  From the first time they met IKF PKB President Johnny Davis, it was all about what their plans were and how much they loved the concept of IKF Point Kickboxing.  They thought the semi contact version of kickboxing would go over well in their area.  They thought that they could entice many of the gyms to come to their event and they thought that fighters in the area would really get into the action!  They were 100% correct and in fact, their first promotion brought out impressive numbers of Point Kickboxers and many grapplers to boot... making this event a true success!   Mendez and Paneda have a great team and share a mutual respect between each other that shows the signs of a potential success story.  To put it simply, these two gentlemen are passionate and serious about growing the IKF/ PKB and Grappling in the State of Florida and by all accounts of the event this past weekend, Florida will become a hot bed for IKF Point Kickboxing.  Not to mention that the IKF World Classic is held annually in Orlando, FL and has over 250 fighters from around the world that come for full contact and semi contact action.  Now, both divisions should only grow as a result of more IKF Point Kickboxing events will serve as an  incubator for the IKF World Classic and other such events.  Mendez and Paneda are already planning their next show for Dec. 12, of this year and going on the requests for more events from so many this past weekend, they will have an even bigger tournament.

Mendez and Paneda will also be reaching out to others who wish to promote IKF Point Kickboxing in the State and will work with them to make their events successful as well. They have plans to create a Florida Circuit that will keep a tally of all the action and end the year with a huge banquet celebration.   Here's to bigger and better things to come for this dynamic duo! Forward March!

SEND IN YOUR 2010 IKF/PKB TOURNAMENT
REQUESTS TODAY
From IKF / PKB President Johnny Davis

Dear IKF/PKB Promoters and Potential Promoters.

We have had an exciting year of IKF Point Kickboxing!  With over 20 events by the year end of 2009, I'm proud to say that the IKF/ PKB seems to have caught on and will only continue to grow!  So many fighters have gotten their start in the IKF/ PKB in its eight years in existence and the results of it being the incubator for the sport is becoming more obvious each year.  I could give so many examples of those that grew up on the IKF Point Kickboxing Circuit that are today IKF World Classic Champions and Professional fighters.  Therefore, I hope that you will take the opportunity to join one of the fastest growing circuits in the martial arts for 2010...IKF Point Kickboxing©!

The IKF/PKB is about safety for the fighters where knockouts are not allowed and matches are all semi- contact. Men, Women and Children compete in styles of  Muay Thai, International and American High Kick Rule Styles weekly and our safety record speaks for its self.  The IKF/PKB is mostly profitable for our promoters as we try and keep our sanctioning cost down so that promoters and their clubs benefit.  We also have a working relationship and understanding with most commissions as we stick to our semi contact rules and they allow our circuit to exist.  As many of you know, these events are sanctioned by the largest kickboxing organization in the world...the IKF.  See more at www.IKFKickboxing.com

Additionally, we work with you from start to finish to see that your event is successful.  So, no matter what part of the country or the world you live in, if you are interested in becoming a promoter for this exciting semi contact sport and create a circuit in your area, please do not hesitate to contact us. Note: There are some blackout days, so we will let you know if your date is approved as we try and keep dates and events as separated as possible. Please see the following links for more information and the Circuit. Go to www.IKFPKB.com More info. Contact Johnnd@akpromotions.org or call (916)205-4762 - (916)630-9254

T.J. Arcangle -

The Next Great Kickboxing Champion?

Update: Set for Battle on Nov. 22nd! More to Come...

Ready for his title shot!

Anyone who was in attendance at the last A.K. Promotions and Tommy T's IKF Championship Kickboxing fights held Sept. 6, 2009 in Rancho Cordova, CA knows that T.J. is the Man!  Quiet, yes but extremely talented and poised in the ring.  He's trained by well known and top trainer Kru Sam P. of San Francisco, CA who is a road warriors as he travels around the world showcasing is fighters.  Kru Sam makes it clear that T,J. is one of his top fighters with great promise and will more than likely be wearing a championship belt of some kind soon.  That's if we can get anyone to take the challenge for the next event scheduled for November 22nd, 2009 in Sacramento, CA at the Doubletree Hotel. After making a couple of calls to those who know T.J. and see his promise the answer is, "No, we don't have anyone for that guy! "  So, now the challenge is out there for you to consider, if you met the guidelines.

Even now, fighters from across the state are sending in their stats to get on one of the most exciting promotions in the State.  Last time, fighters fought in front of a sold out crowd with all the lights, cameras, ring girls and ambiance that gave a feeling that you were at a Las Vegas fight.  Well, the action will be back in November and as we continue to put the card together, we want to know...ARE YOU UP TO THE CHALLENGE?  T. J. is ready to show the world what he is made of  and believes his excellent record of 4.0 will not be diminished until he is the next great champ...unless you can prove him wrong.  If you live in the State of CA and have at least three official fights under the Commission or a fought under a recognizable sanctioning body and would like to potentially fight ( if approved) for the IKF  CA State IKF Light Welterweight Championship (137.1-142lbs). on Nov. 22nd.....contact us today at (916)205-4762 for details or email.

August 8, 2009 Navarro's Scores with Exciting IKF Point Kickboxing Tournament

Mr. Carlos and daughter Rubie Navarro hosted their annual martial arts event in Sacramento, CA.  The event, normally held in San Francisco area was moved to the Sacramento area after the Navarro's received notice of construction on their normal site.  With a little help from Sacramento IKF Point Kickboxing Promoters Mr. Yong and Mr. Rick of Muay Thai Lao of Sacramento, they were able to get the location for them.  One would think that the last minute shuffling would affect the tournament  and the IKF Point Kickboxing fighters participation but that was not the case...at least for the IKF/PKB competitors. PKB fighters came from as far as Santa Barbara, CA to compete in the event and the competition between men, women and juniors in Muay Thai, Hi and low kick style kickboxing was exciting and well received by the fans in the audience.  In the end, the Navarros with a little help from friends scored nicely in pulling off a successful event.

The Navarros gave special thanks to everyone who came out to support them.  Results are coming later this week on the IKF Point Kickboxing.  Just remember, the IKF Point Kickboxing Circuit is in full steam and fighters are piling up points to become this year's divisional champion.  The date of the Awards Banquet that will be held in January of 2010 will be announced soon.  In the meantime, there are several more events planned...so, join in the most exciting semi- contact action on the tournament scene.
