04/27/09 Former teacher Mrs. Willie Del McQueen and  recipient of the Helen and Johnny Davis Computer Scholarship Marrisa McQueen of Dillon, SC.  Marissa, now a senior with a 4.0 GPA, plans to become a teacher!   The award was presented at the Annual James Stephens III Award Banquet in Raleigh, NC. Also, while in the area Davis spoke to 400 youth at J.V. Martin Jr. High School  about the importance of believing in self and striving for goals. ( This is the same school that President Barrack Obama mentioned in one of his speeches about the need for better schools for children) 

Davis was recently flanked by several fans when he entered a Shoney's Rest. in Dillon, SC. 

 The picture will be "a keepsake for their restaurant" says the manager.
